- Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Case #2
This is a 28 year old female who has a history of undergoing elective surgery many years prior. She has a storied history of undergoing elective surgery many years prior for removal of the benign, growing large tumor called a teratoma from her uterus. Unfortunately, severe complications from the selective surgery immediately led this patient into septic shock requiring two months in the ICU, tracheostomy, percutaneous, gastrostomy, numerous open abdomen wound debridements and local wound care to heal her open abdomen, which she has recovered well from now, but bears the significant scar fibrosis deformity and hernias from her previous surgery. The patient came to us requesting elective reconstruction to restore as much form as possible to her previous abdomen, as well as treat the hernias from the previous surgeries. The patient is very happy with her results.
