Dr. Mussman’s background
Dr. Mussman attended Wayne State School of Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class. He then traveled to Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California, where he underwent six years of intensive training at one of California’s most prestigious centers for plastic surgery.
After residency, Dr. Mussman was proud to serve the needs of Northeast Michigan in advanced plastic and reconstructive surgery. He developed a busy practice that offered services ranging from cutting-edge cosmetic surgery to advanced limb salvage techniques. He was honored by his colleagues when he was elected Chair of Surgery in his first year of practice.
In 2014, Dr. Mussman was recruited to Phoenix to serve the needs of a new Level 1 trauma center that opened at Abrazo West Campus. He remains strongly committed to Abrazo West, and is honored that other distinguished plastic surgeons have joined him to serve the needs of Phoenix and Scottsdale. Regency Specialties now serves three Level 1 trauma centers, one cancer center, and the reconstructive needs of many of the Valley’s top surgeons.
Dr. Mussman’s practice encompasses the entire field of plastic surgery. He offers a full complement of cosmetic surgeries, including facelifts, rhinoplasty, breast enhancement, abdominoplasty, and liposuction. These procedures are constantly evolving to stay on the cutting edge.
Dr. Mussman is also a passionate reconstructive surgeon. He pursues excellence in breast reconstruction, skin cancer reconstruction, and limb salvage. In addition, Dr. Mussman enjoys repairing large abdominal hernias that are outside the bounds of traditional hernia repair techniques.
Dr. Mussman is a highly trained hand surgeon. He performs all types of hand surgery, including carpal tunnel, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s contracture treatment, and fracture, nerve, tendon, and artery repair. His microsurgical expertise allows for re-attachment of severed digits and hands whenever this is a possible option.
